Ordered this last week to make Irish Soda , Wheaten & Potato Farls .
It's a heavy quality cast iron griddle. The Farls are soooooooo good made on this griddle. Taste way better than the bakery ones. Comes already treated with oil to give a " non Stick" type of surface.
All you do out of the box is , step 1.rinse under medium hot water with a soft brush or sponge thingy ,
( no washing up liquid please) dry it . Step 2 Rub some sunflower oil on the cooking surface , low to med heat and off you go. When finished , repeat Step 1 to clean , re-oil the whole griddle sparingly and store it until next time.
Cast Iron has always been best for even heat distribution accross the cooking surface.
Much healthier than toxic aluminium too.

I own one of these It is a superbly simple device. Perfect for "Pancakes" & Drop scones. Easy to clean just a green dish sponge and hot water and it's done. Good gear this Lodge stuff. All that I own works superbly but it does need seasoned properly. Info available via " Google". Enjoy it. Good value for your money - Should last forever and a day.

This pan gets better with use, makes wonderfull Scotch pancakes. I would recommened to all.

Want to make Irish soda and wheaten bread, potato bread and pancakes?
This is perfect. I searched for a long time to find a griddle and now my search is over. Just as a footnote, for soda and wheaten farls its a bit small - for me it suits fine but if you can find a griddle that's 1 - 2 inches wider in diameter would be even better.
