Old school cooking at its best June 17, 2008 Jc Davila (UK) 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
I was dithering as to but a plain cast iron pan or an expensive enamalled one. In the end after reading up on things i decided to give the more frugle option a go. The pan has lived up to all my expectations with any problems i've experienced being my own fault. Seasoning was a slightly smelly process but not too hard, just make sure you use a meatal scourer to make the key. When cook remember to be brave and only turn the food once it hase been sufficiently seared to become loose on the pan or you will be swearing about stuck food, a hard cleaning job and a possibly re-seasoning job.
Griddle pan May 12, 2010 Ms. Ma Hepworth (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Why didn't I get one earlier? My ME specialist recommends high protein breakfast - bacon and eggs. yes on a diet! But when I have done it before, my family are concerned about the fat content. I have had none of the problems with the griddle that others have had. I prepared it as instructions ( not rocket science) and now have crispy bacon, and ungreasy mushrooms and tomato. Also great for chops etc. It heats up quicker than the grill, I wash it every few uses, so don't need to lift it much, and enjoy the flavour of the food. Very good value for money.
Kitchen Craft Deluxe Cast Iron Grill Pan November 9, 2009 Mrs. K. Pocklington (Oldham, United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an excellent product - just what you need for a couple of sirloin steaks. Easy to maintain and keep seasoned. Would highly recommend it - excellent value for money!!
Excellent August 11, 2010 Mcghee (Scotland) Forget the poor comments. If you season the pan; oil all over and bake for 1 hour at 200 C before using it then it is non stick and distributes the heat evenly. I use it on electric and gas (gas is better) with excellent criss cross grill marks on steak and chicken. Yes, it may be a little heavy but it is cast iron, not usually considered the lightweight option. I'm pleased and would buy another.
Superb! April 16, 2010 Mr. A. Cushnie (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) Don't go wasting your hard earned money on a new-fangled griddle pan. This is the business!! Follow the instructions as set out, use the oil, and you will never cook a bad steak or chicken breast! Best purchase i've made in years.
